Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy

This course is ideal for people interested in a career change and learning a new skill. It is aimed at giving a comprehensive understanding of the most effective techniques leading to patricipants having the knowledge and skills to practice professionally as a sports & remedial massage therapist. During the course our students have the opportunity to work in the following events:

• Irish Wheelchair Championship
• Dublin Marathon
• Visiting International Rugby Teams
• Ras na hEireann

• Anatomy & Physiology, Advanced Massage
• Sports Massage, Soft Tissue Release
• Muscle Energy Technique, Trigger Points
• Positional Release, Differential Diagnosis
• Event Massage
• Local Muscular Endurance & Resistance
• Training
• Rehabilitation of Injuries

Examination and Certification:

• Validated by Sports Therapy Organisation UK
• Enables professional insurance cover to practice as a therapist.

Cost of Course:

• Course Fee: €3,250

Required Books:

• Book List will be supplied prior to the course commencing

Examination:

• Practical examination x 2
• Theory examination x 2
• Multiple choice questions
• Continuous Assessment
• Case Studies, 10 hours a month minimum

Each Student Requires:

• Bottle of grapeseed oil
• 2 Towels
• Comfortable clothing (polo shirt & tracksuit bottoms)
